Young Jains of America (YJA) & Young Jains United Kingdom (YJUK) co-hosted a “Vegan For A Day” charity collaboration campaign on September 5th.

Please send details of celebration of Paryushan & Das Lakshana Parva at your respective centers at jainahq@jaina.org so we can recognize you. Tapasvis with 15 or more Upavaas are requested to please send their photo.

Jain Society of Houston

Paryushan and Das Lakshan Parva were celebrated with great enthusiasm and great devotion at Jain Society of Houston (JSOH), Texas. They invited Dr. Tej Shahebji, a great scholar and speaker from India, for Paryushan. Great number of members attended his lectures every morning and evening. He also conducted Navkar Mantra Jaap one day and other day he guided Bhakti Jaap of Gautam Swami. JSOH celebrated Das Lakshan Parva with Abhisheks, Pujas, special programs on Self Confidence & Positive Thinking and Das Lakshan Professional & Spiritual workshop. After Paryushan and Das Lakshan, Houston Sangh celebrated Tapasvi Bahman, Swamivatsalya and Bhavna Utsav with great spirit.

Jain Center of Kansas City

Jain Center of Kansas City (KCJS), which is a part of the Hindu Temple and Cultural Centre of Kansas City, has been blessed with about 40+ Jain families. Kansas City Jain Sangh celebrated Mahavir Janma Kalyanak on 9th September. Center members participated in daily pratikaman, kids recited sutras during the daily pratikaman. This year KCJS has witnessed phenomenal Tapascharya in the sangh, which is a moment of pride for the sangh. Tapasvi’s from the community have exemplified a unique source of inspiration to the entire Sangh.

Jain Center of Central Ohio

Jain Center of Central Ohio (JCCO) had the speaker, Shri Pandit Hiteshbhai Doshi from India, who delivered Holy Kalpasutra related lectures two times a day and meditation sessions. JCCO members were the quiet enthusiast and performed every day pooja, Abhishek and pratikraman. Hiteshbhai systematically explained ten virtues of Das Lakhasana dharma too. Many members of the center did 8-9 days Upvash. After Paryushana activities JCCO members will visit Detroit and Cleveland temple as part of out-rich activities (Chaityaparipati).

YJA & YJUK - Vegan for a Day Campaign

Young Jains of America (YJA) & Young Jains United Kingdom (YJUK) co-hosted a “Vegan For A Day” charity collaboration campaign on September 5th! For each person that went vegan for a day, YJA donated $3 to First Book. We were able to contribute $442 to help with access to quality education and providing new books and other essentials to programs and schools serving children from low-income families.
